Renowned Italian Wine from Pantelleria
| Is the largest of Sicily's islands. It lies 100km southwest of Sicily and 70km from North Africa. Its warm climate is constantly tempered by strong winds and hot African sun. The colour of the soil, for most part basaltic, has earned the name "the black pearl of the Mediterranean". The land being volcanic is extremely fertile and well drained, therefore suited for the cultivation of vines. Pasito di Pantelleria which is made with zibibbo grapes is the most renowned Italian dessert wine of the Island. |
