Is without doubt one of the region that give some of the most important and noble red Italian wines in the world. Tuscany is a very large area and it encompasses many different wine regions and climate types. The one thing most regions have in common is the selection of grape varietals. Sangiovese is the dominant red varietal and Trebbiano is the dominant white varietal. The major appellations in the region are Brunello, Chianti, Vino Nobile di Monepulciano for the red wines and Vernaccia di San Gimignano for the white wines.
