| Lies between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, making the weather perfect for agricultural produce. It is among the foremost wine producing regions. The best known being the famous sparkling Prosecco, Valpolicella and Soave alongside the fantastic red wine Amarone. The importance of winemaking in this region is underscored by the creation in 1885 of the very first Italian school for vine growing and oenology.
